Writing Challenge

Hi Crew

I know things are a little quiet right now, so I want to try and provoke some activity. I'm aware of some real life pressures that are affecting some players ability to tag in, and that's fine. However, this is having a flow-on effect to any JPs that may be waiting on tags. That, in turn, lowers our posting levels and I know the Admiralty is watching. One way out of it is to try and increase our solo posts. Hence, this month's writing challenge.

A little while ago we did a challenge where players were asked to write a personal log as the ship got underway on the current mission. I thought it was a terrific success and the logs were filled with some outstanding writing. In the same vein, this time around I'm challenging you all to write a post with the theme "Mail Call".

It can be a letter from your character's family back home, a communique from a friend serving in another ship or on another front or even a threatening letter from a Ferengi debt collector. The sky is the limit but the only condition is that your character is receiving some piece of correspondence.

As for timing, let's take this out of the mission timeline, so it can be set any time up to the present. Maybe it was just before we left on the current mission, maybe during the three month time jump between now and our first mission. Any time, really.

I've created a new active mission for this challenge, so be sure to write under that mission. You'll see it in the writing control panel, it's called "Writing Challenge - Mail Call". I'll leave it open until the end of this month.

Beyond the writing challenge, I encourage everybody to take a look at the Mission Workshop or contact me if you're unsure what to write as part of the main mission. Also, if at all possible, please try to get to your tags in any active JPs as soon as you can.
