Hi Team

There's a discussion happening right now amongst the Fleet about Task Force organisational structures. Below is a message from Admiral Gates regarding this discussion and how you can have your say.

From the looks of it, the Manoora would transition, along with the rest of our Task Force, into the new Division 74 ("Special Projects Division"). Beyond that, I don't see it having much of an impact on our missions.

For those of you who were able to make it to the monthly meeting yesterday, you’d have seen that we have a plan to adjust our current Task Force organisational structure. Our Niche Task Group will be moved out into a Task Force of its own called Division 74 (“Special Projects Division”), and the remainder of Task Force 11 will be split into three Task Forces. Task Force 11 will remain situated in the Galactic South focussing on its Gorn/Klingon War story arc, while the other two Task Forces will be located elsewhere, and expected to develop their own story arcs.

The specifics of choosing new TFCOs and arranging which sims go into which Task Forces will be discussed later (we’ll try to make sure that sims end up where they most want to be, but where that isn’t possible, our rules don’t force you to adhere to your TF’s AoO or story arc; so you could conceivably be in one of the new TFs and still participate in TF11’s story arc in the galactic south) – but what is currently being discussed is the location of these two new Task Forces. The current options on the table are The Borderlands (near Tzenkethi/Cardassian/Talarian space), The Northern Frontier (facing the galactic core, with the Ferengi and Breen on one side and Romulans on the other), the Gamma Quadrant and the Delta Quadrant.

We have a post up on the forums giving more details of each area (and maps for the Borderlands and Northern Frontier), as well as a poll for people to indicate the two areas they think we should expand into – it would be great if we could get as many people involved in this discussion as possible, as it will determine the direction of the next few steps the fleet takes. I’d also encourage you to circulate this link around to your crews; the discussion and poll is open to everyone.
