| General Overview | Coming from one of countless families that had suffered during the Occupation, Setan is a very serious young man. He'd never had a chance to join one of the Resistance cells against the Cardassians as his family's homestead on the moon of Penraddo was too remote, but he did what he could to fight back there with his family in small ways. He's felt like he's been fighting ever since. Having broken with the traditions of his family and left them behind, he finds Starfleet as a way he can continue to put his skills to good use. | |

| Personal History | Like many other Bajorans, Setan experienced much of the fear and violence of the Occupation. His family's remoteness, on the moon Penraddo, made things somewhat easier for them than those on the homeworld, but even there the Cardassians ruled with a brutal fist. Setan and his family did what they could to help support the Resistance, providing food from their farm if they had any to spare to fighters who passed through. Setan was forced to become a mechanic for the Cardassians, fixing atmospheric vehicles and later even shuttles, when his engineering skills were recognized. He was able to pull off some small attempts at sabotage, but anything further would have put himself and his whole family in grave danger. When the Cardassians left in 2369, Setan left too. He headed to the Federation and there enlisted with the Starfleet Marine Corps. His hotheadedness drove him to find somewhere he could continue fighting and his own people's attempts at reconciliation with their oppressors had disgusted him. Setan never doubted that there would be another war with the Cardassians, but at least this way he'd have an opportunity to hone his skills and be ready to do more than break a few shuttle components. After boot camp training, he did spend some time as a mechanic once again, but as soon as he had proved himself in simulations and to his superiors Setan was able to get a transfer into a more combat-oriented role Setan was given a field commission and joined Bobby Lancaster as his Tactical Systems Operator in 2371, just a few days before they were transferred to the 242nd and the USS Manoora. |
